The first step on the path to becoming the best specialist begins at the student desk – YSU student Nazeli Yesayan
The culture, the phonetic beauty of language, and the brilliant works of literature have always captivated Nazeli Yesayan, a student at Yerevan State University, while the professors have strengthened her love for the field she has chosen. Her primary goal is to teach at Yerevan State University, continuing to contribute to the development of science and education.
Nazeli Yesayan, a 4th-year student from "Russian Language and Literature" bachelor's program at YSU Ijevan Branch, has secured third place in the field of humanities in the 2024 competition for awarding named scholarships to the top-performing students of Armenian universities, announced by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
Nazeli shared her reasons for choosing the Russian language and literature, her steps to earn the "Best Student" title, and her career aspirations.
The Role of Professors in Fostering a Love for the Chosen Profession
Choosing a profession is never easy, but for me, it was clear from a young age. I was certain that my future endeavors would be connected with the Russian language, as I have always been fascinated by its culture, the phonetic beauty of the language, and, of course, the brilliant works of Russian literature.
I want to express my deep gratitude to all the professors who have been by my side since my first year, supporting and guiding me on my journey to professional growth. I would especially like to thank my scientific supervisor, Svetlana Minasyan, Professor at the Chair of Foreign Languages at YSU Ijevan Branch and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. She was with me when, like many students at the beginning of their studies, I started to doubt the rightness of my choice. Her support and encouragement helped me regain my confidence and deepen my love for the profession. I aspire to become one of the best specialists in my field and have the opportunity to teach at Yerevan State University, continuing to contribute to the development of science and education.
Factors Contributing to Achieving a Prize-winning Position
I believe my high academic performance, research work, scientific publications, active participation in conferences, and volunteer activities have all played a role in helping me secure a prize-winning place.
The number of my publications has already surpassed fifteen, and I received the latest collection yesterday. My article was published in the "Cross-Cultural Studies: Education and Science" journal, founded by representatives of the academic community from the United States, Europe, Russia, Asia, and Africa. I am also awaiting the publication of a collection of articles from the Institute of Foreign Languages at Moscow Pedagogical State University. All of my articles are available in the "RSCI" (Russian Science Citation Index) system. My articles mainly focus on pedagogy, pedagogical ethics, and the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language.
I have participated in various conferences, both as a plenary speaker and as an attendee. Additionally, I actively engage in forums and masterclasses organized by the Russian House in Armenia. In the future, I would like to take part in educational programs held abroad.
Yerevan State University: A Large Family Where Everyone Contributes
The "Best Student" title fills me with immense pride. I am very happy that my efforts and work have not been in vain. I would advise students to be more courageous, not to be afraid of speaking up for themselves, and always remember that the experts at the best university are ready to support the best students. The first step on the path to becoming the best specialist begins at the student desk.
The role of YSU Ijevan Branch in my achievements and successes is invaluable. YSU is like a large family, where every member contributes to helping us become better and always stay ahead. I want to express special thanks to the representatives of the General Division at YSU, who accepted applications for the competition. They supported me with every question I raised. I hope there will be many more opportunities to appreciate each other's work and rejoice in that appreciation.
