The role of young scientists in advancing scientific development: "Scientists of the Future" project launches at YSU
The Faculty of Russian Philology at Yerevan State University hosted the inaugural event of the "Scientists of the Future" project. The opening ceremony featured addresses by YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Rector of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute Nikita Gusev. As part of the project, leading researchers and scholars from prominent Russian universities, representing various fields, will deliver lectures and conduct masterclasses across various faculties at YSU.
The "Scientists of the Future" project aims to strengthen international collaboration in the humanities and to foster greater interest in academic cooperation among young people from different countries in the fields of science and education.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, emphasizing the importance of direct interaction between university staff and foreign scholars, stated, "I believe the theme of this event will attract significant interest, bringing together scientists from both countries to discuss fascinating topics across various fields of science. We are ready to cooperate and expand collaboration with scholars and researchers from different academic institutions. Currently, we actively cooperate with several Russian universities, including mutual visits and collaborative conferences and meetings. Within the framework of this project, the exchange of diverse ideas and concepts will contribute to the development and professional growth of all participants."
Nikita Gusev, Rector of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, emphasized YSU's role in promoting cooperation in the humanities between the two countries, saying, "It is commendable that the international 'Scientists of the Future' project is being held in Armenia at Yerevan State University. I am confident that the participants will gain new knowledge and skills."
Nikita Gusev also referred to the details of the project, noting that it is implemented through a joint initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Russian Embassy in Armenia. The project is coordinated by the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.
"Science progresses through collaboration between researchers, interdisciplinary studies, and the exchange of experience. This is why conducting such scientific initiatives with the participation of scholars from various countries is so important today," Nikita Gusev stressed.
Diana Gazarova, Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology at YSU, remarked, "I believe that this scientific event will give new impetus to our existing collaborations, further strengthening and expanding the partnership with the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute."
Within the framework of the project, eight scholars from leading Russian universities have visited YSU, including Doctor of Biological Sciences Evgeniya Golovatskaya, Candidate of Technical Sciences Anastasia Dokuchaeva, Doctor of Medical Sciences Vladimir Malchevsky (Russian Academy of Sciences), Doctor of Technical Sciences Dmitry Zhukov (Russian Technical University), Candidate of Philological Sciences Maria Lebedeva, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor Larisa Selezneva (Pushkin State Russian Language Institute), researcher Ksenia Rodionova, and Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Marina Shvidefski (Novosibirsk State University).
During this scientific event, lectures and masterclasses will be conducted at the university in the fields of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and philology. Representatives from Russian universities will meet with students, faculty members, and school students to share their knowledge and professional experience.
Following the opening ceremony, participants visited the YSU History Museum named after Professor Ludwig Gharibjanyan, where they learned about the history of the university and other noteworthy aspects of the institution.
