YSU and State Revenue Committee launch new cooperation
Rector of Yerevan State University Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia Eduard Hakobyan signed a memorandum of cooperation, formally launching a new stage of bilateral cooperation.
The memorandum provides for the organization of practical training and internships for students within the structural subdivisions of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, aimed at developing their applied skills. It also envisages additional experiential opportunities for high-achieving students, as well as joint competitions, seminars, forums, workshops, webinars, lectures, and the implementation of various educational and research programs, among other initiatives.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan emphasized that the university continues to develop and enhance the educational and research environment by modernizing educational programs, strengthening their interdisciplinary focus, and improving university infrastructure, among other initiatives. According to him, partnerships with both private-sector and state institutions in Armenia play an important role in this ongoing process of advancing higher education.
Eduard Hakobyan stated that the institution he leads is interested in cooperating on issues within the SRC's areas of interest, including the joint definition of topics for research papers, graduation theses, master's theses, dissertations, and YSU research projects, as well as involving committee specialists in supervising these works.
He added that the strengthened YSU–SRC cooperation will provide students with opportunities to deepen their knowledge, develop their skills and competencies, and acquire essential practical experience.
Following the signing ceremony, SRC Chairman Eduard Hakobyan delivered a lecture titled "From Student to Leader." In his speech, he addressed several key issues, including the skills required of a public sector employee today, how to develop leadership skills from student years, and the importance of responsibility, voluntary discipline, and continuous self-education.
The lecture concluded with an active question-and-answer session. Students raised questions related to career development opportunities, the steps for employment at the SRC, the qualities of a top specialist and leader, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Armenia, the elimination of the shadow economy, and the introduction of modern technologies, among other topics.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and SRC Chairman Eduard Hakobyan expressed hope that such meetings with students will continue. They encouraged students to take initiative both in organizing and participating in such meetings, as well as in raising questions, noting that young people are the driving force behind the development of the country, the economy, and society as a whole.
