THE SECOND SESSION OF THE CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF YEGHISHE CHARENTS WAS HELD IN YSU

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of the famous writer Yeghishe Charents. Within the framework of the anniversary year, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, with the cooperation of Yerevan State University, Ye. Charents House-Museum, RA NAS Abeghyan Institute of Literature a three-day republican scientific conference is being held.

Both scientists and graduates of Yerevan State University present reports during the conference. Reports on the life and activities of Charents, the founder of modern literature, are presented with the aim of anew evaluating and appreciating the life, creative path and great literary heritage of the famous Armenian poet Charents.

Dean of YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology, Ph.D., Professor Artsrun Avagyan assured us that generations still need to study the inexhaustible and bottomless depths of the life and works of Charents, and that is one of the most important indicators of our national progress.

Referring to the reports presented during the three-day conference, A. Avagyan mentioned, "The scientific session includes 40 presentations. This is symbolic because Yeghishe Charents lived only 40 years. All reports present studies related to the essential parts of his personal, public, and national life. I believe that this scientific session will be a significant contribution to studying Charents."

Lilit Seyranyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of History and Literary Criticism of Modern Armenian Literature of YSU presented a report on "A new experience of reading "Yes im anoush... "" at the conference. Emphasizing the importance of reports presented at the scientific session, the literary expert said, "Listening to and enjoying the readings of Charents by my older and younger colleagues, I appreciate works by Charents in a new way. Each of the reporters tries to be worthy of Charents, his thought, feelings and patriotism."

Director of Yeghishe Charents House-Museum Zhanna Manukyan told us that the organizational work of the conference started last year. Referring to the museum's participation in the conference, she noted that the museum aims to expand its scope of cooperation and is always ready to cooperate with scientific and educational institutions.

YSU master’s program student Gohar Vahanyan presented the "Female image system in "Navzike", poem by Charents". Speaking about her participation in the conference and the topicality of the reported subject, Gohar noted that it was not only pleasant and interesting for her, but also responsible and binding to study the literary activity of Charents.

"I believe that the participation of students in such conferences is particularly important, because during them they build and develop as specialists, acquire new knowledge, and based on the knowledge they already have, discover new layers," she added.

It should be noted that the opening of the conference took place yesterday in the Hall of Conferences of the Presidium of NAS RA, and the third session will take place tomorrow, November 25, at the RA NAS M. Abeghyan Institute of Literature. The presented reports will be published in the collection of materials of the "Charents and his era" conference.
