INTERRNATIONAL CONFERENCE REELATED TO UNIVERSITY EDUCATION DEDICATED TO 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF YSU
On April 26-27, the scientific-research laboratory of Applied Sociology of the Faculty of Sociology of YSU organized the international conference entitled “University Education in Sociological Perspective: Challenges and Possibilities” which took place in “University” base in Tsaghkadzor.
The teaching staff of the faculty, postgraduates, students, as well as specialists of Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University and Armenian State Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovyan.
Specialists from abroad also took part in the conference: Doctors of Sociology and Social Work of the University of Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic) Miroslav Kapple, Kvetenska Daniela; Professor of Belarus University Larisa Titorenko, Doctor of Kuban University Natalya Yurchenko, Doctor of Saint Petersburg University of Physical Culture after Lesgaft Kajik Ohanyna and other specialists.
The themes were different: from modern tendencies of “Social work” profession development to education organization by active learning method.
The specialists made a comparative analysis between the systems of higher education of Armenia and Belarus.
The Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Arthur Mkrtchyan informed that during the conference they discussed the challenges facing not only YSU but university education in general as well.
According to him, there are many problems not only in Armenia but worldwide as the societies, economics, science are changing and the changes are to be reacted appropriately.He also noted that the conference gave the possibility to discuss the problems and to search for solutions.
