JOSEPH KLINGLER

Joseph Klingler is a Partner in Foley Hoag’s International Litigation and Arbitration Department in Washington, D.C. His practice focuses on the representation of sovereign States and State-owned entities in public international law disputes, especially in cases before the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.
Joseph is co-authoring the 3rd Edition of Oxford University Press’ preeminent volume on Treaty Interpretation alongside the author of the 1st and 2nd editions, Richard Gardiner. Joseph has published extensively on matters of public international law, is graduate of Harvard Law School, and is a member of the New York and District of Columbia bars.
