PIERRE D’ARGENT

Pierre d’Argent is a full professor at the University of Louvain, a member of the Institute of International Law and a member of the Brussels Bar, Special Counsel to Foley Hoag LLP. He served as First Secretary of the International Court of Justice.
Professor d’Agrent is the author of an award-winning book on war reparations, a published course at the Hague Academy on “International Obligations” and over 100 articles and book chapters.
He is a member of the editorial boards of the Annuaire français de droit international, the Revue belge de droit international and the European Journal of International Law. He is the past President of the European Society of International Law.
Professor d’Argent regularly appears before the International Court of Justice and also argues cases before arbitral tribunals and domestic courts. His advisory and litigation experience covers land and maritime delimitation disputes, genocide, war reparations, human rights, aviation disputes, investment arbitration, state contracts, environmental claims, natural resources and immunities.
