The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, President Vahagn Khachaturyan, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, as well as Samvel Shoukourian, Scientific Director of the IT Educational and Research Center.

The State Prize of the Republic of Armenia was conferred upon Japanese scientist Yoshiaki Daimon Hagiwara, founder of the AIPLAB consortium and President of the LOCOMTEC AIPS Artificial Intelligence Partner System Laboratory, in recognition of his outstanding global contributions to the high technology sector.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Hagiwara expressed gratitude for the recognition of his contributions and the honor of receiving the State Prize of Armenia. The distinguished scientist emphasized the importance of advancing the high-tech sector and underscored the necessity of demonstrating steadfast commitment to the implementation of educational programs.
Yoshiaki Daimon Hagiwara graduated from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, USA, with a PhD in electrical engineering with a specialization in physics in 1975. While working at Sony from 1975 to 2008, he was involved in the development of image sensors and digital camera chipsets, including ADCs, DRAM, high-speed cache SRAM buffer memory chips, microcontroller chips, and high-performance real-time processors. In 1992, he was a member of the JEDEC Memory Standardization Committee and also served as the Chairman of the IEC TC47 Technical Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Mr. Hagiwara has also served as Chair of the International Program Committee and member of the Executive Committee for the IEEE Electron Device Society (EDS)-sponsored ICMTS conferences, as well as the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS)-sponsored ISSCC conferences. He chaired the IEEE ISSCC Asian Committee and led the ISSCC International Technical Program (ITC).

The prominent scholar has been a visiting professor at the California Institute of Technology’s Departments of Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics, as well as at Gunma University’s Department of Electrical Engineering in Kiryu, Japan.
