The national team of Armenia, formed following the qualifying round of the International Winter AI Olympiad (IAIO) organized at the YSU Information Technologies Educational and Research Center, participated in the international AI Olympiad held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from February 23 to 27, representing Armenia on the international competitive stage.
The members of the Armenian team were Vahe Pluzyan (Evrika School of Vanadzor), Samvel Ghazakhetsyan (Evrika School of Vanadzor), Koryun Gaboyan (Yerevan High School No. 190), and Aram Amirkhanyan (Evrika School of Vanadzor).
This year, the international olympiad brought together more than 150 participants from 38 countries. The event was initiated by the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) under the auspices of the Jožef Stefan Institute.
As a result of the competition, Armenian team's member Koryun Gaboyan received an Honorable Mention, ranking among the 14 international participants awarded this recognition.
Participation in the International AI Olympiad served as a valuable experience for the team, providing an opportunity to compete in a highly challenging environment, deepen their knowledge and practical skills, and present Armenia's educational potential on an international platform.
YSU Information Technologies Educational and Research Center will continue to support such initiatives, fostering the professional development of young people and enhancing their international engagement.
