From July 21 to August 3, 2026, an international professional seminar on "Information System Integration and Management for Developing Countries" was held in Wuhan, China, with representatives of Yerevan State University among the participants, including staff members of the YSU Information Technology Educational and Research Center (ITERС).
Organized by the Wuhan Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, the seminar focused on a range of highly relevant topics related to information system integration and management, modern communication technologies and the development of digital infrastructure.
During the seminar, participants learned about the history and vision of China's economic development, as well as the country's experience in technological advancement and the development of information and communication technologies.
The professional sessions covered the integration of communication and computing technologies with 6G communication technologies, approaches to developing cybersecurity and cyber power architecture and policies, PON (Passive Optical Network) technologies and their applications, the principles of cloud technologies and examples of their implementation, as well as the development potential of F5G and All-Optical networks.
As part of the seminar, participants also visited leading Chinese technology companies FiberHome, Hikvision and Hengtong, where they learned about their development history, technological solutions, working environments and products.
According to Elena Petrosyan, a staff member at the IT Educational and Research Center, the seminar provided an opportunity not only to gain new knowledge about modern technological fields but also to learn firsthand from leading companies in the sector.
"The topics covered during the seminar were quite broad. It was particularly interesting to combine theoretical knowledge with the practical experience of leading technology companies. During our visits to FiberHome, Hikvision and Hengtong, we had the opportunity to learn about their development history, technological solutions, products and working environments. This gave us a more comprehensive understanding of how modern technologies are developed and applied in real-world settings.
I believe that such professional exchange programs are important not only for acquiring new knowledge but also for establishing international connections and creating opportunities for future cooperation. It is particularly important to continue cooperation with leading scientific and technological centers by organizing reciprocal visits, exchanges of experience and other forms of collaboration.
"Such programs can also contribute to increasing the international visibility of Armenia's research centers and to applying modern technological practices in our country."
The knowledge and experience gained during the seminar are expected to be applied in the educational and research activities of the IT Educational and Research Center, contributing to broader knowledge of modern technological fields and creating new opportunities for international cooperation.
