The Department of Armenian Studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest offers three-year Bachelor's and two-year Master's programs in History with a focus on Armenian Studies.
The programs are taught in English.
The curriculum provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of history, emphasizing both global and Armenian perspectives. It prepares students for a range of professional paths, including government service, international relations, academia, education, law, librarianship, and archival work.
Under the instruction of an international faculty, students will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of Eastern Armenian, Western Armenian, and Classical Armenian, as well as to specialize in areas such as national and transnational historiography, social anthropology, literature, translation studies, diaspora studies, and other related fields.
Courses in world history allow students to view human history as a continuous process shaped by economic, cultural, political, and technological interconnections. Through its interdisciplinary approach, the program aims to develop research skills, analytical thinking, and critical reasoning, which are essential for the professional paths outlined above.
