The Department of Armenian Studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest offers students the opportunity to pursue the three-year "History" bachelor's program or the two-year "History" master's program with a specialization in Armenian Studies.
The language of instruction is English. The programs provide interdisciplinary training in history with a particular focus on global and Armenian perspectives, preparing students for a range of professional paths, including government, international relations, academia, education, law, librarianship, and archival work.
Thanks to the international faculty, students can improve their knowledge of Eastern Armenian, Western Armenian, and Classical Armenian, and specialize in areas such as national and transnational historiography, social anthropology, literature, translation, diaspora studies, and other related fields.
Courses in world history allow students to study human history as a continuous process of economic, cultural, political, and technological interconnection.
Based on an interdisciplinary approach, the programs aim to develop research skills, analytical thinking, and critical thinking, which are essential for all of the professional paths mentioned above.
