Wroclaw University of Science and Technology has announced the launch of the sixth edition of the Stanislaw Lem European Research Prize competition.
The competition is intended for young scientists under the age of 40, born in 1986 or later, who are affiliated with universities or research centers in European Union member states, countries associated with the Horizon program, or Switzerland.
The prize is awarded for an innovative discovery or significant achievement made over the past three years, from 2023 to 2026, in broad fields of science and engineering, with particular emphasis on a technological component, an interdisciplinary approach, creativity and vision.
The application must include:
a completed application form;
two to three letters of recommendation;
up to three scientific publications;
a CV is also recommended.
The application must be signed by the candidate and sent by September 30 to the following email address: lemprize@pwr.edu.pl.
The winner will be announced on November 15, 2026, during the annual celebration of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.
The winner will receive a cash prize of 100,000 Polish zlotys, approximately 23,000 euros, and will be invited to Wroclaw to attend the award ceremony in 2027.
The awardee will also deliver a lecture presenting their scientific discovery or achievements.
