An online meeting was held with Andrew Duhancioglu, the Director of Oliver Wyman Actuarial Consulting Firm, Los Angeles, organized by YSU Alumni and Career Center.
Andrew has been providing actuarial services for over a decade in the property and casualty insurance sector. He is a certified actuary in both the United States and Canada.
Andrew Duhancioglu is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and an Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA). He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from California State University, Northridge. He also studied at the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School in Canoga Park, Los Angeles, California, and attributes much of his professional success to the strong educational foundation he received there.
During the meeting, Andrew shared his professional experience, explaining why the actuarial field can serve as an inspiring career path for YSU students. He presented the opportunities available in the actuarial profession and its real-world impact, both in Armenia and abroad.
The event sparked significant interest among students.
During the meeting, several potential areas of collaboration were outlined, including supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses, provision of up-to-date professional literature, and the possibility of organizing internships for YSU students in the international organization.
