The Faculty of History of Yerevan State University is organizing an international conference on the topic “Theoretical and Methodological Issues of Teaching History” in December 2025. The conference is funded by Yerevan State University and the “Pan-Armenian Foundation for the Funding of Armenian Studies.”

CONFERENCE TOPICS

Theoretical and methodological problems related to the teaching of history and various humanities disciplines in higher education, will be discussed during the conference. It will cover the following areas:

• Historiography;

• Armenian History;

• World History;

• History of the countries in the region;

• Archaeology;

• Ethnology/Cultural Anthropology;

• Cultural Studies;

• Art History, History and Theory of Armenian Art.

Based on the review of submitted applications, new directions may be identified.

PARTICIPATION FORMATS AND DEADLINES

Please send applications for participation in the conference, as well as a brief abstract of your presentation (up to 500 words), to the following email address by November 1, 2025: conferencehistory@ysu.am

Applications can be submitted in Armenian, Russian, or English.

The Organizing Committee will notify participants of the selected presentations by November 10, 2025. The abstracts of the presentations will be published before the conference.

Presentations selected by the Organizing Committee will be published as a special issue of the journal “History and Culture.”

The organizers will cover the accommodation, airport-to-hotel-and-back transfer, and meal expenses for the selected participants.
