Knowledge and Schooling Day was marked on September 1 at the YSU Pedagogy and Education Development Center, with a ceremony welcoming first-year students enrolled in the "Social Pedagogy" bachelor's program and in the "Education Management" master's program.
Associate Professor, PhD Ashikyan welcomed the students who had chosen social pedagogy as their profession, noting that the field is of key importance to modern society because of its humanistic and child-centered focus. A social pedagogue is a specialist who stands by children, their families and communities, creating effective models of communication among these important social institutions and contributing to children's healthy social development.
Addressing students in the "Education Management" master's program, Ashikyan emphasized that future professionals in the field will gain the knowledge and skills needed to apply effective and innovative management approaches within the education system.
The first-year students were also welcomed by Associate Professor, PhD Ghazaryan, who wished them productive studies. This new stage, Ghazaryan noted, is not only a period of learning but also a journey of self-discovery and development. At YSU, students have broad opportunities to gain knowledge, pursue initiatives and take an active part in student life.
Laura Hovhannisyan, President of the Student Council of the Pedagogy and Education Development Center, and Madora Haronyan, President of the Student Scientific Society, also congratulated the first-year students, emphasizing the importance of education and professional development.
At the end of the event, the center's faculty members and the heads of its student organizations answered questions from the first-year students and distributed brochures about the academic programs.
