From July 13 to 25, 2025, the International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS-2025) took place in Beijing, the capital of China, dedicated to fundamental sciences. Among the invited speakers was Professor Yuri Movsisyan, Honorary Head of the Chair of Algebra and Geometry at Yerevan State University (YSU) and President of the Armenian Mathematical Union.
Professor Movsisyan delivered a one-hour plenary lecture focusing on hyperidentities and their applications, which garnered significant interest from the congress participants. Of particular note was his discussion on the application of hyperidentities to problems in second-order logic and the theory of second-order identities, which have been formulated by renowned mathematicians A. I. Malcev, A. Tarski, L. Fuchs, and B. I. Plotkin.
It is also worth mentioning that Professor Movsisyan is the author of three monographs dedicated to the theory of hyperidentities, published in 1986, 1990, and 2023.
