Applied Statistics and Data Science

Program duration is 2 years.

The program was implemented in September 2018. It was initiated jointly with the ISTC Foundation.

Admission requirements

Admission is carried out through a written examination.

A prerequisite for successfully organizing the course is to have prior knowledge of linear algebra, mathematical analysis, probability theory, and a programming language.

The aim of the program

The program aims to equip students with theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of statistics and data science, providing an opportunity to obtain a modern and in-demand profession.

Advantages

The program emphasizes both data science and programming, as well as statistics. Young and experienced specialists from academia and industry are lecturing here, and several individual and group projects are being implemented during the course of study. Within the framework of the program, professional lectures are held in English, and specialists from abroad are also lecturing and leading scientific research.

Career opportunities

Graduate who completes the program can:

• Work in the industry as a middle-level data scientist  (computer vision, voice and sound signal processing, text, and natural language processing, machine learning applications in medicine),
• Continue education in Postgraduate studies in Armenia and abroad,
• Engage in scientific and pedagogical activities, obtaining new results, publishing articles, and teaching in undergraduate and short-term professional programs.
