The establishment of the History Museum of Yerevan State University aims to preserve and recognize the value of the rich heritage of the university's foundation, development, and academic traditions. By bringing together the historical paths of YSU's various faculties, the museum vividly presents the university's role in the formation and advancement of science and education in Armenia.
One of the museum's most significant and noteworthy sections is the corner dedicated to one of YSU's fundamental academic and research centers—the Institute of Physics. As testimony to the formation and development of physics as a scientific discipline in Armenia, this section displays materials related to the activities of the institute's founding lecturers, including manuscripts, photographs, documents, and the first laboratory equipment.
The Physics section places special emphasis on the history of the establishment of atomic and nuclear physics, astrophysics, as well as theoretical and applied physics. It also highlights the scientists whose work has gained recognition both in Armenia and within the international scientific community. This section is not only a space of historical memory but also a symbol of continuity, linking the past, present, and future of physics.
