From March 9 to 13, 2026, at 14:30, YSU Institute of Physics will host a lecture series, organized by the initiative of the Chair-Center of Materials Science and Nanotechnology. The lectures will be delivered by Dr. Nefeli Lagopati, a scientist in the fields of biology and nanomedicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. This visit is organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ international exchange program.
Dr. Lagopati's scientific activity focuses on medical physics and advanced materials science. Her research focuses on the synthesis of nanostructured materials and the study of their applications, particularly for cancer therapy. The investigations cover biological and composite materials, as well as innovative directions in nanomedicine.
Lecture Topics:
- Introduction to Nanomedicine and Nanotechnology
- Biological and Environmental Applications of Photocatalysts
- Biological Sensors Based on Solid-State Nanomaterials
- Other Applications of Nanotechnology: Prediction of Optimal Properties of Nanomaterials Using AI
