The YSU Faculty of European Languages and Communication held a formal welcome and orientation event for first-year students, providing them with information about the faculty's structure, the educational process, academic programs and other essential matters.
The dean of the Faculty of European Languages and Communication and members of the academic staff congratulated the first-year students on the start of the new academic year and their admission to YSU, while introducing them to the faculty's activities, educational opportunities and various aspects of university life.
The students learned about the faculty's history, traditions, educational mission and key areas of development. They were also introduced to the academic and professional path they will follow over the coming years, acquiring professional knowledge, developing language and communication skills, and shaping their professional identity.
Faculty representatives emphasized the importance of students' active involvement in university life, noting that education at YSU extends beyond the knowledge acquired in the classroom. Alongside gaining new knowledge and skills, the university years are also an important period for self-discovery, building new friendships, becoming involved in initiatives and shaping one's future professional path.
Marine Yaghubyan, Acting Dean of the Faculty of European Languages and Communication, congratulated the first-year students and emphasized the importance of their chosen profession, noting that it requires dedication, diligence, curiosity and a constant willingness to learn and develop. She also encouraged students not to be afraid of difficulties, to believe in their abilities, to take initiative and to always dream.
"Today, you are standing at the threshold of a new journey, one filled with new knowledge, interesting discoveries, achievements and, undoubtedly, new challenges," she told the students. "An important stage lies ahead of you, during which you will not only acquire professional knowledge, but also discover your own abilities, develop your skills and build your future."
The faculty head also assured the students that YSU provides opportunities to receive a high-quality education, develop creative thinking, communication skills and professional potential, as well as to carry forward the faculty's rich traditions and become bearers of new ideas.
She wished the first-year students interesting, meaningful and memorable university years, expressing hope that the new knowledge they gain, their achievements and the difficulties they overcome will help them reach their goals and realize their dreams.
