A delegation from the University of Granada, headed by Francisca Dolores Serrano Chica, Director for Language Policy and the Internationalization of Academic Offerings at the University of Granada, visited Yerevan State University from September 14 to 18.
The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen academic, research and cultural cooperation between the two institutions, as well as to learn more about the academic initiatives carried out by the Spanish Language and Culture Center at YSU as part of its cooperation with the University of Granada.
At the initiative of the Spanish Language and Culture Centre, the visit included "Spanish Language and Culture Days", during which lecturers from the University of Granada delivered a series of lectures. In particular, Francisca Dolores Serrano Chica spoke about the University of Granada's academic programs and opportunities for cooperation in education, internationalization and academic exchange. Javier Villoria Prieto's lecture focused on differences between Spanish as spoken in Spain and Latin America, while Vicente Ballesteros Alarcón delivered lectures on the distinctive features of Hispano-Muslim art and other topics.
The visit also included institutional and academic meetings with YSU representatives aimed at promoting cooperation between the two universities.
According to Hasmik Baghdasaryan, Head of the Chair of Romance Philology, such visits greatly contribute to fostering and deepening professional dialogue between the academic communities of the two universities, creating new prospects for long-term and sustainable cooperation.
