Students from Yerevan State University (YSU) and the Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) recently initiated an educational pilgrimage to seven sacred sites, led by faculty members Irina Mkhitaryan and Nona Harutyunyan.
The mission of the initiative focused on the spiritual elevation of the students, the reinforcement of national-ecclesiastical values, and an immersion into Armenia's rich Christian heritage.
During the pilgrimage, students not only became acquainted with the history of Armenian church architecture but also had the opportunity to reflect on the importance of spiritual life and moral value systems. Direct conversations with members of the clergy pertained to the mystery of the Holy Resurrection and the role of the Christian faith in general as a cornerstone for an individual's inner peace and development.
The priests, encouraging the youth, emphasized the necessity of combining spiritual awakening with knowledge, viewing it as a guarantee for the preservation of national identity and a comprehensive education.
