YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology hosted a professional lecture by Dr. Vojtěch Blažek, a lecturer at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic, titled "ArcGIS as a Core Tool for Geographers at the University of South Bohemia: Trends and Approaches."
During the lecture, held on April 29, Dr. Blažek presented the University of South Bohemia’s experience in geoinformation technologies, particularly the integration of the ArcGIS platform in the educational process. He shared real-world teaching examples and collaboration models involving public schools and local institutions, demonstrating how geospatial technologies are applied across different levels of education.
The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities of integrating traditional and digital methods in education, as well as on the technical and legal aspects. The event was attended by bachelor’s and master’s students, as well as faculty members.
Visits by international scholars foster the exchange of educational practices, promote the development of geoinformation technologies, and strengthen academic collaboration across borders.
