A 30-hour training course on the Leapfrog Geo 3D geological modeling software was held from April 3 to June 26, as part of cooperation between the YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia. The course was designed for employees of the ministry's Mining Department and the Republican Geological Fund.
The trainer was Khoren Harutyunyan, who introduced participants to the capabilities of Leapfrog Geo, modern methods of 3D geological modeling, and practical approaches to processing and analyzing geological data. The course combined theoretical knowledge with practical work, contributing to the development of participants' professional skills.
The course concluded with a certificate award ceremony, during which the importance of government-university cooperation was emphasized in the context of developing professional capacity and introducing modern technologies.
Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Asatur Vardanyan praised the initiative and emphasized the importance of ensuring the continuity of such programs. He noted that the cooperation established between the university and the ministry is a significant contribution to developing the capacities of specialists in the field.
Sargis Kelyan, dean of the YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology, expressed readiness to continue and expand cooperation by implementing new educational and professional development programs.
The course was an important contribution to the continuous professional development of specialists in the field. It promoted the effective use of modern tools for 3D geological modeling, the dissemination of best practices, and the further strengthening of cooperation between scientific, educational and state institutions.
