A research article by Hakob Avchyan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Iranian Studies of the YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, has been published in the Journal of Language Contact, published by Brill and indexed in the international scientific databases Scopus (Q2) and Web of Science.
Avchyan's latest research article provides a systematic examination and linguistic analysis of loanwords of Arabic origin in Northern Talyshi. The study is of particular significance for Iranian linguistics, areal linguistics and the identification of patterns of language contact.
The article was prepared for publication within the framework of the research project "The Vocabulary of Northern Talyshi: Inherited and Borrowed Strata (A Comparative-Historical Aspect)" (Project Code: 25YR-6A029), funded by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia.
