CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
The Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Saint Petersburg State University and the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University, is organizing the ORBELI International Summer School.
This 10-day program is dedicated to contemporary issues in oriental studies and aims to enhance the professional and research skills of the participants. The thematic focus of the 2025 summer school is "Between Tradition and Innovation: Oriental and Armenian Studies".
The summer school will be held at one of the campgrounds in Vanadzor, Lori Province, Armenia, from July 4 to 13. It will feature an intensive curriculum, seminars, workshops, as well as expert talks and cultural visits.
Renowned orientalists from Armenia's academic and research institutions (YSU, AUA, NAS RA) and guest experts from Russia will deliver the courses.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
The summer school is open to third- and fourth-year bachelor’s students, as well as master’s students from YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, with a minimum GPA of 15. Proficiency in both Russian and English is required.
To apply, interested candidates must send a motivational letter to orbelisummerschool@gmail.com by April 30 of this year. The letter should be titled "Why I Want to Participate in the Orbeli Oriental Studies Summer School" and should be written in Armenian, in Word format, with a word count of 300-400 words.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
