Representatives of the Chair of Iranian Studies at Yerevan State University participated in the Fifth Symposia Iranica, held at the University of St Andrews in the United Kingdom.
During the conference, specialists from the YSU Chair of Iranian Studies delivered presentations within the framework of the research project "The Impact of Domestic Political Currents of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Its Foreign Policy Towards the South Caucasus (2013-2024): A Case Study of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan" (code: 25YR-6A021), presenting key topics related to Iran's regional policy.
Associate Professor Liana Petrosyan, PhD in History, presented a report titled "The Impact of Domestic Political Currents of Iran on Its Foreign Policy Towards the South Caucasus (2020-2024): A Case Study of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan." Lecturers Nare Gevorgyan and Garik Misakyan delivered presentations titled "The Impact of Domestic Political Currents of Iran on Its Foreign Policy Towards the South Caucasus (2020-2024): A Case Study of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan" and "Domestic Political Currents and the Changing Dynamics of Iran-Azerbaijan Relations (2018–2025)," respectively.
As part of the conference, the YSU delegation held a number of productive meetings and discussions with leading Iranologists from abroad. The parties discussed opportunities for expanding professional cooperation and implementing joint research projects.
The Armenian delegation also received an official invitation to participate in the international Iranian studies conference scheduled to take place in Romania next year, further underscoring the strong international standing of the YSU Chair of Iranian Studies.
