On September 18, 2026, at 13:00, the YSU Chair of Iranian Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies (Classroom 321), will host a workshop titled "Azerbaijan's State Language Policy and Issues in the Exercise of the Linguistic Rights of Indigenous Peoples: General Education Textbooks and Related Issues."
The event is being held at the YSU Chair of Iranian Studies within the framework of the thematic project "Language Endangerment in Azerbaijan: A Study of State Language Policy and Sociolinguistic Behavior of Indigenous Peoples, with a focus on Iranian Languages (Kurdish, Talysh and Tat)," funded by the RA MoESCS Higher Education and Science Committee (project code: 24SSAH-6B028) under the "Research in Social Sciences, Armenian Studies and Humanities – 2024" program.
Professor Jaffer Sheyholislami of Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, the project's international partner, will also participate in the workshop.
The project is being implemented at the YSU Chair of Iranian Studies.
