On June 2–3, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University will host an international conference on Social and Cultural Dimensions in Teaching Arabic in the Ferdausi Hall. The conference will bring together scholars from universities across Europe, Russia, and Armenia to present and discuss the relationship between social and cultural factors shaping the processes of teaching and learning Arabic. Topics will include the impact of diglossia on linguistic diversity in Arabic-speaking societies, methods for integrating dialects and cultural elements into Arabic language instruction, and the influence of dialect and culture integration on both teaching practices and the overall learning experience. The main objective of the conference is to explore and critically evaluate evolving pedagogical approaches to teaching Arabic, with a particular focus on the interplay between Modern Standard Arabic and regional dialects. |
