1. Admission criteria/requirements
For those with a Bachelor’s degree in the same specialty, admission is held without exams, and the applicants with related specialties pass the final exam for the Bachelor’s degree.
2. Programme Objectives
· To provide students with in-depth knowledge of the history and theory of Armenian and world art, skills of description and analysis of monuments and works of art,
· To familiarize with the methods of using the latest information technologies in professional research,
· To develop the critical thinking of art among students, as well as the skills of preparing reports, scientific articles, and lectures on topics of Armenian and world art history.

3. Educational outcomes of the programme
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- To formulate the theoretical issues and concepts of Armenian and world art.
- To determine the time, place, artistic value, and artistic school of works based on pictorial, stylistic, and comparative analysis.
- To determine the material value of artworks based on contemporary art market requirements, business and marketing principles.
- Based on the provided sufficient knowledge, challenge, prevent, and deny the appropriation of Armenian artworks by other nations.
- To describe and analyze works of art.
- To present and define the place and significance of Armenian art in the context of world art.
- To accurately determine the material value of Armenian and world works of art.
- To carry out marketing of works of art, sales, and auctions.
- To organize exhibitions, auctions, professional discussions.
- To expand independent professional activities, as well as to carry out scientific research.
- To find the Armenian artworks looted by other nations as a result of the Genocide.
- To analyze the existing problems of the profession and to evaluate the possibilities of their solution.
- To use professional literature to find information from different sources, analyze facts, and draw reasonable conclusions.
- To work in a research group and lead it.
- To creatively apply existing knowledge and propose new scientific hypotheses.
- To prepare reports, scientific articles, and research papers, and conduct scientific debates.
- To maintain the norms of professional ethics.
- To master a foreign language to the extent necessary to extract information of a professional nature from foreign language sources.
4. Assessment methods
Based on the workload of the courses (academic modules) provided by the curriculum of the educational program, the form of training, teaching methods, and taking into account the degree of importance of the course in the formation of professional knowledge and abilities of the student, the courses are divided into 4 groups according to the assessment:
a) with the final assessment,
b) without final assessment,
c) without assessment of mid-term exams,
d) check-up
Accordingly, the evaluation components of the given course and the points allocated to them are chosen by the teaching professor and approved by the Chair. The forms of conducting assessments and examinations are indicated in the course summary of the given educational program.
At the end of the program, students submit a thesis for defense.

5. Graduates future career opportunities
Graduates can be employed in public and private universities, museums, research institutes, private galleries, state government cultural bodies, colleges, schools, tourist agencies, and all institutions related to art and culture, both in Armenia and abroad.
6. Resources and forms to support learning
Printed literature, provision of digital materials (visual images and e-books), use of Internet material (provision of relevant websites on art and culture), viewing of professional films, conducting lectures accompanied by images, and visiting museums, exhibitions, and monuments are components of interactive teaching during studies. In addition, regular online meetings with teaching professionals and artists abroad are also organized.
7. Educational standards or programme benchmarks used for programme development
When developing the program, the characteristics presented for the 7th level of the RA National Framework of Qualifications, the "Management Manual for the Development of YSU Educational Programs" prepared by the YSU Quality Assurance Center, the "Guide for filling out the Educational Program Specification and Course Descriptors" and other materials were used.
