During the summer of 2025, scholars from the Chair of Personality Psychology at Yerevan State University participated in a number of significant international academic events, thus fostering international cooperation, deepening professional expertise, facilitating knowledge exchange, and outlining opportunities for future joint initiatives.
One of the most significant events was the world’s largest conference in the field of intercultural psychology, held in Brisbane, Australia. The event focused on value orientations related to dignity, honor, and face-saving. On June 20, Ani Grigoryan, a researcher at YSU Laboratory of Personality and Social Environment, delivered an oral presentation at the conference. She presented her findings from the largest international research project of its kind.
Another notable engagement was a working visit to the University of Messina (Italy) by Associate Professor Narine Khachatryan, PhD in Psychology and Head of the Chair of Personality Psychology. The visit took place from June 24 to 30 as part of the Erasmus+ exchange program. Over the course of the week, Narine Khachatryan met with several experts in the field and representatives of the university. Discussions focused on academic program logistics and content, psychological support services for students, and ongoing collaborative projects.
The 19th European Congress of Psychology, held in Paphos, Cyprus from July 1 to 4, was themed "Transforming Psychological Science: the 2030 Agenda." Members of the Scientific Group on the Psychological Study of Public Processes, Sona Manusyan and Ani Poghosyan, participated in the congress, delivering a report on some of the findings of the ongoing grant-funded project titled "Affiliation, Influence, and Civic (No) Action: The Understanding of Citizenship in Post-Revolutionary and (Post) War Armenia from a Socio-Psychological Point of View."
Lecturer Hasmik Hakobyan participated in the 23rd International Congress of Analytical Psychology, held in Zurich, Switzerland from August 24 to 29, marking the 150th anniversary of Carl Gustav Jung’s birth.
Meanwhile, Assistant Professor Anna Hakobjanyan took part in the 39th Annual International Conference organized by the European Health Psychology Society, held from August 26 to 29 in Groningen, the Netherlands. She presented a report on results from a study exploring sociocultural influences in the use of alternative medicine, with a particular focus on the role of health-related beliefs.
