A scientific-methodological seminar titled "Teaching the Course 'Linguocountry Studies of Russia' in the Contemporary Stage" was held at the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology, bringing together faculty members. The seminar featured a presentation by Naira Martiryan, Head of the Chair of Russian Language, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor.
The discussion focused on current issues in the teaching of linguocountry studies in contemporary educational processes. The speaker emphasized that traditional linguocountry studies is an important methodological discipline aimed at developing intercultural competence among learners through studying national and cultural characteristics of native speakers' communication.
Particular attention was paid to linguocountry studies as an independent component of language teaching, complementing traditional linguistic disciplines such as phonetics, lexicology, grammar, and stylistics. It was noted that studying language through the lens of culture contributes to a deeper understanding of national worldview and the development of intercultural communication.
Following the presentation, an active discussion took place, during which lecturers shared their views on modern approaches to teaching Russian and its cultural component.
