Book Giving Day: celebration of books and reading
On February 19, the faculty marked Book Giving Day. Students organized a thematic quiz dedicated to books, literature and reading. Winners received books, while other participants were awarded souvenirs and incentive prizes. The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, once again reminding participants that books remain among the most valuable gifts. Students actively discussed their favorite works and shared their impressions of contemporary literature.

"Киномания" became one of the most memorable events in student life, which brought together enthusiasts of cinema and creativity. Participants immersed themselves in the world of well-known films, recalled characters and guessed films while completing creative tasks.
The event gave students an opportunity not only to demonstrate their knowledge and creative approaches, but also to spend time in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere. According to participants, "Киномания" became a true celebration of good mood and team spirit.
"Словомания": playing with words and language
Another intellectual and entertaining event, "Словомания," was held at the faculty. Students took part in language competitions, games and tasks related to the Russian language and speech culture.
The event helped participants discover the possibilities of language in a new way, particularly showing that a word can be not only an object of study, but also a space for creativity, play and communication. The competitions were accompanied by active discussions, laughter and friendly rivalry.
"Масленица": atmosphere of warmth and traditions
Maslenitsa was a special event in student life, filled with the atmosphere of a folk celebration, the aroma of pancakes, music and sincere smiles. It became not only a symbol of bidding farewell to winter, but also a celebration of unity and good mood. Pupils from the Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex also joined the celebration.
Students presented thematic performances, games and competitions, while participants shared good wishes.
Seminars
Seminar-discussion on "Contemporary Russian Culture: Differences Between Cultures Then and Now"

The seminar became a platform for exchanging opinions, presenting new ideas and discussing current issues in culture and intercultural communication.
Seminar on "Russian National Dress"
During the seminar, which generated great interest, students explored the features of traditional Russian dress, its symbolism and historical significance. The event was accompanied by presentations and stories about the cultural heritage of the Russian people.
Sports-themed Alias: knowledge, emotions and team spirit
On April 21 of this year, a sports-themed Alias game was held at the faculty. The intellectual competition featured the Quidditch and Barcelona teams. The game took place in a tense and emotional atmosphere. Participants demonstrated not only their knowledge of sports, but also their ability to react quickly, work in teams and support one another. As a result of the game, Barcelona was declared the winner.
The organizers highly appreciated the students' active participation and emphasized that such events contribute to the formation of a friendly, open and united atmosphere at the faculty. Intellectual games, cultural meetings, discussions and festive events help students reveal their abilities, develop communication skills and strengthen friendships, making their student years bright and unforgettable.
The events once again showed that YSU Faculty of Russian Philology provides not only an environment for academic education, but also a space for live intercultural communication and students' creative development.
