A formal welcoming ceremony for first-year students was held at the YSU Faculty of International Relations.
The students were welcomed and congratulated by YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan, Dean of the Faculty Tigran Yepremyan, and Gor Petrosyan, Head of the Faculty Office and Deputy Dean.
Congratulating the students on becoming members of the YSU community, the speakers emphasized the importance of higher education in addressing contemporary challenges.
During the event, students were given a detailed overview of the structure and main areas of activity of the Faculty of International Relations. The speakers presented the work of the faculty's chairs, its research and educational centers, and the broad range of specialization opportunities available to students. They also outlined the key fields studied at the faculty and its development priorities, which are aimed at preparing highly qualified and competitive professionals.
Particular attention was given to the foreign languages taught at the faculty and the importance of attaining a high level of proficiency in them. The speakers emphasized that foreign-language proficiency is crucial for effective work in diplomacy, foreign policy analysis and international cooperation. Language proficiency was highlighted as one of the key factors enabling future professionals to integrate into the international arena and advance in their careers.
At the end of the event, faculty representatives answered students' questions and wished them an academic year filled with success and achievement.
