A meeting with high school students was held at the YSU Faculty of International Relations, during which prospective applicants were introduced to the faculty's educational programs, teaching methods, and profession-specific opportunities. The meeting was organized as part of a series of visits initiated by the YSU Center for Admissions and Affairs with Applicants.
The Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor, PhD in History, Tigran Yepremyan, warmly welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the faculty's mission, the importance of preparing students for international platforms, and the encouragement of student initiatives. The dean highlighted the high standards of the academic environment, student engagement, and opportunities for professional growth, which together provide the foundation necessary for the comprehensive development of students.
Representatives of the faculty's academic staff also participated in the meeting. The Faculty Office Head, PhD in Political Scienses, Gor Petrosyan; Head of the Chair of Diplomatic Service and Professional Communication, Associate Professor Syuzanna Navasardyan; Head of the Chair of International Relations and Diplomacy, Associate Professor Zhak Manukyan; Professor at the Chair of Political Science, Ashot Yengoyan; and lecturer at the Chair of Public Administration, Narine Asryan, presented the educational programs offered at the faculty. They discussed the structure of the courses, teaching methods, and opportunities for participation in research initiatives. They also spoke about the platforms for the development of professional skills, student initiatives, and international cooperation. Prospective applicants actively inquired about admission procedures, course content, and opportunities for involvement in research projects.
The meeting was organized to present the faculty's educational programs, their opportunities, and advantages to participating students, as well as increasing awareness among prospective applicants and guiding the "career orientation vector" toward the Faculty of International Relations.
Narine Khachatryan, a student of Galust Gulbenkian School No. 190 in Yerevan, responding to the question, "What expectations did you have from the university regarding guidance in choosing a profession?" stated that she attended the meeting with the expectation of receiving complete and clear answers to her questions. She noted that the information presented and the engaging discussions will be useful for making a well-informed professional choice in the near future.
The accompanying teacher also emphasized the meeting's significance in facilitating students' career orientation and helping them more effectively choose aligned educational programs in the future.
Armen Tonyan, President of the Faculty Student Council, provided a detailed overview of student organizations' activities and the faculty's educational programs, addressing the course structure, learning methods, and opportunities to participate in research initiatives.
The students gained a clear understanding of how they could join international and team projects, seminars, and conferences, as well as how to present initiatives, innovative ideas, and research work that contribute to the development of the faculty's educational environment. This creates a comprehensive educational experience, which in turn supports students' advancement and professional success.
The information session allowed for an exchange of opinions, the raising of important questions, and the provision of necessary answers for both students and lecturers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, students were introduced to the auditoriums of the Faculty of International Relations and the learning process.
