YSU 3rd Annual International Conference on Politics and International Affairs
24-25th of September 2026
The Faculty of International Relations of Yerevan State University organizes its third annual conference on politics and international affairs. The 2026 conference is titled “Reimagining International Order: The New Architecture of Global Governance beyond Hegemony.” The conference aims to bring together scholars specializing in international studies. It will serve as a venue for academic discussions and a meeting point for scholars to present their current research, discover common academic interests, and discuss ideas for potential joint research projects․
Applications from broader fields of international studies, political science, history, sociology, and political economy are welcome. Presentations can be related, but not limited to the following topics:
- Order from Chaos: Evolution of International Order and Justice
- Global Governance and the Architecture of Multi-polarity
- The Algorithmic State: Diplomacy, Territoriality, Security in the Age of AI
- The Silicon Curtain: Tech Wars and Global Alliances, Cyber Warfare and the Digital Frontier of Geopolitics
- Future Frontlines: Hybrid Warfare and Defense Strategies
- Diplomacy of War and Peace: Soft/hard power, conflict resolution
- Resilience and Reconciliation: Post-Conflict Strategies in the 21st Century
- The Human Element: Sustainable Development, Migration and Demography in Transitive Times
- Soft Power in Hard Times: The Evolution of Cultural Diplomacy
- Democracy and Statecraft in the Age of Uncertainty
Applications should include a title, the presenter’s name, affiliation, and email, and an abstract (up to 300 words). The application file should be sent to conference.int.rel@ysu.am in a .doc or .docx format. The Conference Committee will review the applications and communicate its decision via email. After receiving the acceptance letter, presenters are expected to send their papers in a .doc or docx format. The participants will be offered to submit their manuscripts to the YSU Journal of International Affairs, published by Yerevan State University Press. The scholars, who will not attend the conference, are also welcome to submit their research articles to the journal.
All sessions will be held in person. The working language of the conference is English. The conference does not cover travel and accommodation costs. All questions should be addressed to conference.int.rel@ysu.am .
