Samvel Dilbandyan, Head of the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics at YSU Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law and Professor, participated in the international scientific and practical conference "Legislation on Combating Crime: Doctrine and Law Enforcement," held on September 24-25 at the Omsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The conference was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of Doctor of Law and Professor V.V. Nikolyuk.
More than 150 prominent scholars specializing in procedural law from foreign countries took part in the conference.
Professor Samvel Dilbandyan's presentation focused on the mechanism for admitting cassation appeals for proceedings under Armenia's new Code of Criminal Procedure. The Armenian model generated considerable interest among Russian scholars and became the subject of substantive discussion.
As a result of the conference, agreements were reached on further cooperation with several Russian universities, including presenting Armenia's criminal procedure legislation in Russian textbooks, organizing joint online discussions, publishing academic articles, and reviewing dissertations.
