As part of the cooperation established between the legal clinics of the YSU Faculty of Law and Ural State Law University, a group of YSU law students participated in the annual "Summer University" international program held in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Through the program, they gained new insights into international legal practice, acquired new professional knowledge and explored new dimensions of intercultural communication.
YSU was represented in the international educational program by students Eleonora Tumanyan, Emy Muradyan and Anastasia Hayrapetyan.
Promoting international cooperation and strengthening professional knowledge
By bringing together students from different countries, the program sought to enhance participants' professional knowledge, promote international cooperation and broaden their intercultural experience. The students attended thematic lectures, practical discussions and case studies covering various branches of law, current developments in international law, the legal regulation of digital technologies, human rights protection and contemporary legal challenges.
As part of "Summer University", the students had an opportunity to learn about the distinctive features of different countries' legal systems, compare legal regulations and discuss international experience with legal professionals and students from abroad. Educational and professional visits were also organized for the law students. At Ural State Law University, they learned about the university's academic environment and the distinctive features of legal education. They also visited the legislative body of Sverdlovsk Region, the Bar Association and law firms, gaining first-hand insight into the organization and activities of these institutions.
Intercultural communication and exchange of experience
According to the students, one of the most heartwarming events was the national hospitality evening, during which YSU Faculty of Law students presented Armenian culture, traditions and national cuisine.
As part of the cultural program, they also visited renowned religious sites in Russia, travelled to the geographical boundary between Europe and Asia, toured Yekaterinburg and explored the city's historical and cultural heritage.
YSU students' project earns high praise, strengthening prospects for cooperation
One of the key stages of the program was the ХакАтом project, during which teams comprising students from different universities worked to solve practical problems ranging from engineering and technical tasks to the legal regulation of nuclear technologies, ethics, environmental issues and digitalization.
As part of the project, the YSU students successfully presented a project they had developed, which received high praise and approval from the organizers and participants.
Welcoming the success of the initiative, the faculty expressed confidence that many other joint projects and educational programs would be implemented in the future as part of the bilateral cooperation.
