On May 12, the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology hosted a conference dedicated to Philologist's Day. The event once again demonstrated the continuity of the strong academic and scientific traditions of this founding faculty of the alma mater, as well as the sustained interest of young researchers in the development of philological studies.
The conference brought together not only students of the Faculty of Armenian Philology, but also representatives of related faculties, in particular from the field of radio physics. This further highlighted the importance of interfaculty cooperation and the effectiveness of integrating different scientific disciplines.
The presented papers addressed a wide range of topics. Students examined the works of Avetik Isahakyan and Shirvanzade, as well as the Armenian epic Sasna Tsrer, from new perspectives, alongside the literary and philosophical heritage of Ibsen and Sartre.
Special attention during the conference was also given to the linguistic features of Khachatur Abovyan's classical Armenian writings, the etymology of Armenian surnames, the lexical field related to clothing, and issues of transliteration in the digital sphere.
The conference was marked by the scholarly quality of the presentations, thematic diversity, and the contemporary relevance of the issues discussed.
