An information session on the AMD Armenia Internship Program 2027 was held at Yerevan State University at the initiative of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics.
How can students gain real-world work experience, develop professional skills and enter the technology job market with greater confidence while still at university? What new opportunities are opening up for technology professionals? These and other questions were at the center of the event, attended by students from the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics and the Institute of Physics. Participants were introduced to opportunities to gain experience in the international technology sector and apply their professional knowledge in practice.
The event opened with remarks by YSU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Rafayel Barkhudaryan and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics Vahe Sargsyan. They emphasized the importance of such programs in supporting students' professional development, providing practical experience and enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market.
During the meeting, students learned in detail about the activities of the AMD ARMENIA company, its main areas of technology, and its professional environment. Particular attention was also given to the skills currently in demand in the field and to how students can prepare for new professional challenges while still at university.
Key topics discussed included:
the activities and main technology areas of AMD ARMENIA;
opportunities for students' professional growth;
details about the internship program and opportunities to gain work experience;
the technical skills expected of participants;
the application and selection process for the program, which will begin in February 2027.
Beyond serving as purely informational events, meetings of this kind give students a real opportunity to understand the path from theoretical knowledge to practical professional experience, the skills required in a rapidly changing technology sector and the steps they can take today to become in-demand specialists in the future.
The presentation of the AMD Armenia Internship Program 2027 was one potential first step for students along that path.
