On November 26, 2024, an extended meeting of the Academic Council was held at YSU Faculty of Biology. The meeting was attended by YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, YSU Academic Secretary Mery Hovhannisyan, the faculty members, researchers, and students.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the ongoing educational and scientific reforms at the university and addressed questions raised by the academic staff and students.
The rector spoke not only about the recent achievements of Yerevan State University on the international stage, including new collaborations, but also about the development of internal educational and research programs, as well as innovative initiatives. These aspects are of crucial importance in strengthening YSU’s leadership as an academic and scientific institution.
Karen Ghazaryan, Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Doctor of Biological Sciences, and Associate Professor, also discussed several issues related to the educational process at the faculty, as well as the faculty’s educational and research activities, publications, and various international collaborations.
Dr. Ghazaryan presented the key directions for the faculty’s advancement, focusing on the improvement of educational programs, the learning process, and research activities. He emphasized the necessity to address certain administrative issues.
Speakers at the meeting noted that resolving the issues raised during such discussions would contribute to the implementation of high-quality educational and research works, innovations, and the creation and expansion of skilled personnel potential.
Concluding the meeting, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan pointed out the significant importance of such gatherings for working collaboratively on key issues and achieving meaningful results.
