General information
This research focuses on the experimental and theoretical investigation of symmetry-breakinginduced resonances in plasmonic and photonic nanostructures. The study aims to explore high-Q phenomena such as Fano resonances and quasi-bound states in the continuum, which arise from intentional structural or excitation asymmetries. These effects will be examined in two representative systems: an all-dielectric and hybrid periodic platforms. The project combines numerical simulations, nanofabrication, and advanced optical characterization to explore enhanced nonlinear optical effects and sensing capabilities. A key goal is to gain practical expertise in experimental nano-optics and strengthen the research capabilities of the Laboratory of Nanoplasmonics at Yerevan State University.
