YSU and National University of Rosario strengthen inter-university cooperation
Yerevan State University recently hosted Franco Bartolacci, Rector of the National University of Rosario, Argentina. During the meeting, the parties discussed new opportunities for cooperation and prospects for development in Armenian studies and the broader educational sphere.

Among the attendees at the meeting were YSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan, Head of the International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov, and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Argentina Hector Murad Yousoufian.
Vice-Rector Elina Asriyan presented the educational programs and key initiatives currently being implemented at YSU, emphasizing the significance of enhancing cooperation between the two universities.
Previously, YSU and the National University of Rosario had a cooperation agreement in place, the term of which has now expired. At present, negotiations are underway to sign a renewed and updated agreement. The parties discussed expanding the scope of cooperation, taking into account current needs and the shared objectives of the two institutions.
"The National University of Rosario is the only university in Argentina that has an Armenian studies center and carries out Armenian studies programs. We will continue our collaboration with the Armenian studies center by providing the necessary literature, as well as inviting lecturers to participate in our events," noted Alexander Markarov. He also stressed that a mutual understanding has been reached to not only continue the cooperation under the renewed agreement but also explore opportunities for student and faculty exchange.
Considering that cooperation opportunities are dependent on external funding and the significant geographical distance between the two countries, the possibilities of virtual mobility for students, as well as the organization of online lectures, were also discussed.
Throughout the meeting, the importance of inter-university cooperation was underscored, particularly the strengthening of institutional ties and collaboration between the two educational establishments.
