Associate Professor Pavel Balayan awarded YSU Gold Medal
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan awarded Associate Professor Pavel Balayan of the Chair of Russian Linguistics, Typology, and Communication Theory at the Faculty of Russian Philology the YSU Gold Medal on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
Associate Professor Pavel Balayan from the Faculty of Russian Philology received the university's highest honor—the YSU Gold Medal—in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of the university's educational and scientific environment, particularly within the Faculty of Russian Philology, his prolific academic and pedagogical work, and his dedication to the education and upbringing of generations of students.
The ceremony was attended by YSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan, Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology Diana Gazarova, Head of the International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov, Academic Secretary Meri Hovhannisyan, and other members of the faculty.
During the ceremony, Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan expressed gratitude and appreciation to Pavel Balayan for his long-standing service, wishing him continued fruitful work for the benefit of the university, the professional development of students, and the promotion of the Russian language, literature, and culture.
Vice-Rector Asriyan highlighted Balayan's professional skills, dedication, and exemplary personal qualities, while Head of the International Cooperation Office Markarov emphasized that Balayan enjoys the respect and admiration of both students and colleagues—the highest recognition of his work.
Dean Gazarova praised Pavel Balayan for consistently supporting both young and experienced members of the faculty through his expertise and diligent work.
