YSU Gold Medal awarded to Professor Eduard Yeghiazaryan
Yerevan State University Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan has awarded the YSU Gold Medal to Professor Eduard Yeghiazaryan of the Chair of Zoology at the Faculty of Biology in honor of his 80th birthday.
In recognition of Professor Eduard Yeghiazaryan's prolific academic and pedagogical career, his years of dedicated service, and his substantial contribution to the advancement of science, the YSU rector presented him with the university's highest honor—the YSU Gold Medal.
Karen Ghazaryan, Dean of the YSU Faculty of Biology, noted that Eduard Yeghiazaryan has been part of the university since 1967—first as a student, and since 1973 as a staff member—marking nearly 54 years of service to the institution. He emphasized the profound impact of the scholar-educator's scientific and pedagogical contributions, achieved through more than half a century of prolific work.
Professor Yeghiazaryan expressed his gratitude to Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan for the recognition and for valuing his many years of service.
The distinguished scholar is the author of 12 academic textbooks and continues to play an active role in educating and mentoring new generations, as well as in advancing and strengthening the university's academic and research environment.
The ceremonial presentation of the Gold Medal was also attended by YSU Academic Secretary Meri Hovhannisyan; Head of the Chair of Zoology, Astghik Ghazaryan; and Associate Professor of the Chair of Human and Animal Morphology and Physiology, Anahit Arakelyan.
