YSU continues T4GREEN pilot phase
Yerevan State University is continuing its active participation in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building project T4GREEN, which aims to modernize teacher education in line with the evolving demands of the green and digital transition.
As part of a 30-credit pedagogue certification course delivered by the YSU Pedagogy and Education Development Center, the T4GREEN (Transforming Teacher Education for Green and Digital Transition in Armenia and Moldova) project has entered a pilot phase. This stage focuses on enhancing teachers' professional competencies in accordance with newly established educational standards.
Earlier phases of the project included a series of training sessions for academic staff, during which European partners introduced best practices, innovative educational technologies, and contemporary approaches to green and digital education. Faculty members who completed the training are now actively involved in the pilot phase, applying their newly acquired knowledge and skills within the teaching process.
The pilot program has been designed in line with the core principles of T4GREEN and includes:
modern digital learning tools,
integration of sustainable development principles,
interdisciplinary and project-based learning approaches.
The course employs innovative teaching methods, including interactive instruction, blended learning, and practical assignments. These approaches support the development of teachers' professional skills and contribute to the modernization of the educational process.
Within the framework of the project, several subject curricula at YSU have already been reviewed and updated to incorporate elements of green and digital education. Teaching methodologies across various disciplines have also been refined, with a stronger emphasis on the use of modern educational technologies and the integration of sustainable development principles.
The implementation of the T4GREEN project represents an important step toward improving the quality of teacher education at YSU and advancing broader reforms in the national education system. The pilot phase will allow assessment of the effectiveness of the developed modules and serve as a basis for their further implementation and wider dissemination.
