YSU to coordinate Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project
Yerevan State University has once again been entrusted with coordinating a project under the European Union's Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action — the new MONTESQ project. Bringing together partners from Armenia, Mongolia and European countries, the initiative will help modernize governance, integrity and anti-corruption education in higher education in Armenia and Mongolia by developing a new generation of interdisciplinary academic programs and expanding international academic cooperation.
The MONTESQ project ("Interdisciplinary Master's Program on Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption in Armenia and Mongolia") has successfully passed all stages of the competitive selection process and been recommended for funding with a score of 92 points.
The project aims to strengthen human, institutional and educational capacities in Armenia and Mongolia in the fields of governance, integrity and anti-corruption policy by developing a modern interdisciplinary master's program, as well as a system of professional micro-credentials.
As part of the project, 4 master's programs and 12 micro-credential courses will be developed, accredited and piloted, covering law, public administration, political science, economics, ethics, criminology and digital governance.
The curricula will be based on the European Union's fundamental values and principles, including the rule of law, transparency, accountability and the protection of human rights.
The project focuses particularly on practical learning, including internships, applied research, case studies and cooperation with public anti-corruption bodies. Through cooperation among European, Armenian and Mongolian universities, MONTESQ will contribute to the development of high-quality education, the introduction of innovative teaching methods and the long-term sustainability of the project's outcomes.
The MONTESQ project will be implemented with the participation of partner organizations from Armenia, Mongolia, Spain, Germany and Austria. The consortium brings together universities, institutions working in public administration and justice, as well as specialized anti-corruption bodies.
The project coordinator is Yerevan State University.
The Armenian partners are the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia, the Academy of Justice and the Armenian Center for Educational Policy and Management. Mongolia is represented by Otgontenger University, the National University of Mongolia, the Independent Authority Against Corruption of Mongolia and the Judicial Training, Research and Information Academy. The European partners are Universidade da Coruña in Spain and Universität Tübingen in Germany.
MONTESQ marks another important step in implementing Yerevan State University's internationalization strategy, expanding its international partnerships and promoting innovative educational initiatives aimed at social development.
