53 years at university: Marina Muradyan concludes her career at YSU

Marina Muradyan has worked at YSU since 1973. For more than five decades, the university has been not only her workplace, but also an integral part of her daily life, professional development and personal relationships.

Over the years, the university has changed: generations of students and staff have come and gone, working processes have evolved, and the demands of the times have shifted. Yet for Marina Muradyan, these changes have never altered the essence of the university.

"The people at the university. I have grown and learned thanks to them, and I have admired them. University people are unlike anyone else; you rarely meet people like them," the long-serving employee said when asked what had kept her connected to YSU over the years and brought her to work every day.

For Marina Muradyan, every assignment entrusted to her at the university was not merely a professional duty, but also a responsibility and an honor. Over the years, she contributed to YSU's day-to-day work, building extensive professional experience and earning the respect of her colleagues.

On her final working day, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Academic Secretary Meri Hovhannisyan and Head of the Rector's Office Davit Hovhannisyan recognized Marina Muradyan's many years of service and contribution, highlighting her dedication and conscientious work.

"You have devoted an entire lifetime to Yerevan State University. Throughout these years, you have been directly involved in the university's daily life, its achievements and changes, and through your conscientious work you have played an important role in the university's history. We are grateful for your many years of dedicated service, your sense of responsibility and your significant contribution to university life. I am convinced that your experience and knowledge will continue to serve the university for many years to come," YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan said.

Marina Muradyan has received a number of awards for her many years of service at YSU. Among them is the YSU Gold Medal, awarded to her in recognition of her long-standing service to the university. She has also received awards and certificates of appreciation marking YSU's anniversary celebrations, as well as other distinctions.

When reflecting on her years at the university, however, Marina Muradyan focuses not on the awards, but on the people and the bond she has formed with the university.

"After working here for so many years, I will miss it very much. But I think the connection will remain as long as we are here and have the opportunity to stay in touch," she said, speaking warmly about the people with whom she has shared her journey at the university.

Asked what she is taking with her after so many years of work, her answer comes without hesitation: "Everything. Just as your home is your home - something close to you and essential - so is the university."
