February 11 marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, established by the United Nations General Assembly through Resolution A/RES/70/212 on December 22, 2015. First celebrated in 2016, the day aims to highlight the importance of fully utilizing women's potential in science and ensuring equal rights and opportunities for participation in science.
To mark the occasion, a series of events will be held at Yerevan State University, including panel discussions, workshops, and scientific games, aimed at achieving two key objectives:
To inspire girls to transform their curiosity into scientific research and innovation.
To promote a culture of zero discrimination by highlighting and critically examining the persistent social, economic, geographical, and other inequalities that continue to exist in the scientific domain.
